GeForce NOW introduces a native app for Valve’s Steam Deck, enhancing cloud gaming with RTX-powered visuals and extended battery life, alongside six new game releases.

GeForce NOW has unveiled its first native app for Valve’s Steam Deck, marking a significant advancement in portable gaming technology. This development allows gamers to experience high-quality GeForce RTX-powered gameplay on a handheld device, according to the GeForce NOW Community.

Enhanced Gaming on the Go

Announced earlier at the CES trade show in January, the native app aims to unlock the full potential of the Steam Deck by offering seamless cloud gaming capabilities. The app supports streaming at up to 4K resolution with 60 frames per second, HDR10, and NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 and Reflex technologies, providing a visual and performance upgrade beyond native Steam Deck capabilities. Furthermore, the app promises up to 50% extended battery life when streaming from an RTX gaming rig in the cloud.

This update means that Steam Deck users can now enjoy graphics-intensive AAA titles at maximum settings without concerns about hardware limitations or battery life. Some of the highlighted titles include ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,’ ‘Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered,’ and ‘Monster Hunter Wilds.’

Expanding Game Library

The native app broadens access to over 2,200 supported games on GeForce NOW. Users can now stream titles from their Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft, Battle.net, and Xbox libraries, including over 180 supported PC Game Pass titles. This integration offers Steam Deck users the benefits of an RTX 4080 GPU, improved visuals, and access to games previously unplayable on the handheld device.

Alongside the app launch, NVIDIA celebrates with a giveaway of two prize bundles, each including a Steam Deck OLED and Dock, plus free GeForce NOW Ultimate memberships. Participants can join by following GeForce NOW’s social media channels and using #GFNOnSteamDeck.

New Game Releases

This week also sees the release of six new games available for cloud streaming. Among them is ‘Tokyo Xtreme Racer,’ which immerses players in high-stakes Japanese highway street racing. The game features open-road duels, deep car customization, and a neon-lit atmosphere for a unique racing experience.

Other titles available for streaming include ‘Nice Day for Fishing,’ ‘Cash Cleaner Simulator,’ ‘The Last Spell,’ ‘Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon,’ and ‘Torque Drift 2.’ These additions further enhance the gaming options available to GeForce NOW users.

For those interested in exploring this new gaming avenue, the native app is available for download on the GeForce NOW page, with setup guidance provided on their support site.
